Sri Kumar has over 40 years of experince in academia, government, and industry. He recieved his Ph.D from Yale, and M.S., and B.E from IISc, Bangalore, and B.Sc (Hons) degree from Bangalore university. He served on the faculty of Northwestern University (1985-98), RPI (1982-85),a nd SUNY Buffalo (1980-82). He was a program manager at Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) from 1999-2005, and senior technical advisor at National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) from 1998-2005. He was an Engineering Director at BAE Systems (2005-2009); and Executive Director of Strategic Research at SRI International (2009 to 2011). He is a senior member of IEEE.
