ITEC 2024 was held in Chicago, USA on June 18-21. The PELS TC4 mentorship luncheon was held on June 20, under the financial support of PELS. Event Attendees include TC4 leadership: Fei Gao, Liang Du; Industry: around 10; and Students: 20-25, including 15 first-time IEEE conference attendees and new PELS members.

Dr. Shobhit Gupta from General Motors shared his experience in running student mentorship program at ASME. Mr. Abhilash Valson from Navistar shared his experience in running student mentorship program at SAE.

We proposed for open suggestion and feedback on establishing TC4 Outstanding Mentor Certificates, which will be given out at ITEC 2025 as its inaugural effort. The attendees in general gave very positive feedback on this proposal. We will give two TC4 Outstanding Mentor Certificates to two industry people who actively participate and contribute to TC4 programs at ITEC 2025.

We proposed for open suggestion and feedback on establishing TC4 mentoring podcasts: 1 podcast by TTE and ITEC leadership on how to participate into TC4 activities as reviewers, how to write good reviews; and 1 podcast by PhD students (especially who have won awards) to share experiences. The attendees in general gave very positive feedback on this proposal. We will take action to have at least one podcast in the second half of 2024.
