Developing hearing aid algorithms on a general purpose BLE microcontroller

Our team has managed to create a development platform for hearing aid related algorithms on an off-the-shelf Nordic Semiconductor nRF52840 BLE SoC. This, thank to the simple hardware architecture, helps us immensely to create future signal processing prototypes.

It seems, the complex and expensive hearing aid hardware and the stripped-down and cheap hardware for hearables and earbuds will merge at some point. This point may be dawn of OTCs (over-the-counter hearing aids).
