Biography
Mr. Cooper is the founder in 1986 of Cooper Consulting Service (CCS) located in Friendswood, TX. CCS is an engineering design and development company with a focus on medical devices. He has a BSEE '74 and MSEE '81 from the University of Houston and is a registered professional engineer in Texas. He has been the Chair of the IEEE Houston Consultants Network for 5 years. He served for 12 years as the co-chairman of the AAMI Blood Pressure Transducer Committee that developed the ANSI-AAMI national standard for blood pressure transducers. He has written over 16 articles for publication in professional journals and holds 22 patents in the field of medical devices. CCS is an engineering design and development company with a focus on medical devices. CCS develops medical products under FDA design controls. CCS designs electronic hardware, software, enclosures, wireless systems, laser based systems, pump systems, power supplies, battery operated modules, analog circuitry, digital circuitry, microprocessor hardware and firmware, amplifiers, audio drivers, interfaces and communications circuitry. CCS develops sensors for pressure, temperature, load, optical, position and motion. CCS provides documentation systems to meet FDA GMP requirements. CCS develops automated test systems for pc boards, sensing systems and modules. CCS develops software in LabView, LabWindows/CVI, C, C++ and microprocessor development. CCS designs and fabricates prototype hardware and assembles first article production units under configuration control for clinical testing. CCS designs products and systems to meet medical safety standards, such as IEC60601-1, and to meet electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) under IEC60601-2.
