Prof. Massoud Amin

Biography
Dr. Massoud Amin, an IEEE and ASME Fellow, has been Chairman, President, & CEO at Energy Policy and Security Associates since February 2023, and Professor Emeritus at the University of Minnesota since March 2023. He also held the Honeywell H.W. Sweatt Chair in Technological Leadership & directed the Technological Leadership Institute at the UofM (Mar. 2003 - Oct. 2018). His work includes: 1) Enabling smarter, secure, sustainable & resilient critical infrastructure, and 2) Strategic technology/business/policy assessment, foresight & forecasting. Before March 2003, Dr. Amin was with EPRI in Palo Alto, where post 9/11, he directed all security R&D for U.S. utilities, leading Grid Operations & Planning, Energy Markets, Risk & Policy Assessment. He pioneered R&D in Smart Grids in 1998, leading the development of 24 technologies that transferred to industry, and twice received the Chauncey Award, the Institute's highest honor.
