Makoto Yoshida received his Ph.D. degree in informatics from Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan. Dr. Yoshida is currently with Fujitsu Laboratories Ltd., Kawasaki, Japan, as the director of Advanced Wireless Technologies Laboratory. His research interests include wireless communications systems, ad-hoc network systems, and physical layer security. He served as an associate editor for the IEICE Transactions on Communications from 2010-2013 and received the Distinguished Contributions Award from the IEICE COMSOC in 2013. He also worked as a part-time lecture at Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan, in 2017. He has been serving as a member for the IEEE ComSoc Signal Processing for Communications and Electronics Technical Committee since 2016. He is a senior member of the IEEE and the IEICE.
