M K Quweider is a Professor of CS at UT-RGV. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering (Multimedia and Imaging Specialty) and a B.S. In EE (Digital Communications), M.S. in Applied Mathematics, and an M.S. in Engineering Science from the U. of Toledo, Ohio. He also holds a BA and MA of English and an MBA from the U. of Texas at Brownsville. Recently, he completed a Masters in Cyber Security form Champlain College. He was employed at several corporations including Pixera, a multimedia processing company in, CA, 3COM, a communications company in IL, and Mercantec, an E-Commerce company in IL. He has been externally funded by NSF among other agencies either as a PI, co-PI, or contributing researcher. He has more than 50 publications in the field and has served as a reviewer/moderator for several scientific and educational journals and conferences. In 2000, Dr. Quweider joined UT-RGV. His areas of interest include Imaging, Computer Vision, and Visualization, Networking and Cyber Security.
