Prof. Magdy Nagy

Biography
Prof. Dr. Magdy Nagi is a Professor in the Computer and Systems Engineering department, Faculty of Eng., Alexandria University. He obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Karlsruhe, in 1974. On the national level, he was a Consultant to many projects under the umbrella of either the University of Alexandria for designing and/or implementing automation projects for governmental authorities or public sector companies, such as the Ministry of Interior, the Health Insurance Organization (HIO), the Social Insurance Organization (SIO), and the Customs Authorities. In 2001, he was appointed as the Head of ICT Sector of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) and occupied that post until 2012. He currently serves as a senior Consultant to the BA director. He is a member of the ACM and the IEEE. He is author/co-author of more than 100 papers. Dr. Nagi is also a member of the Institut d'égypte (Egyptian Scientific Institute) which is the oldest scientific institute in Egypt.
