Lalintha G. Polpitiya received the BSc. Eng. (Hons.) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, in 2011, the B.I.T. degree in Information Technology from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, in 2013, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (Research Focus: Artificial Intelligence) from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL in 2019. He is currently a Senior Software Engineer with The MathWorks Inc., Natick, MA. His research interests include artificial intelligence, autonomous robotics, reasoning under uncertainty, Dempster-Shafer belief theory, deep learning, data structures and algorithm design, computational complexity, combinatorics, and visualization. He was a recipient of the IEEE Computer Society Richard E. Merwin Student Award in 2014. He has served as a Student Ambassador of the IEEE Computer Society in 2015. He was a member of the IEEEXtreme 3.0 winning team in 2009 and IEEEXtreme 5.0 runner-up team in 2011.
