Biography
Engineer, entrepreneur, and business leader. Over 30 years experience leading innovation and product development enabling applications of photonics in process control, aerospace, telecommunications, environmental protection, biotechnologies and medical devices. Co-inventor for 18 patents in photonics and co-authored more than 30 scientific papers. Kexing holds a Ph.D. in instrumentation and analytical science from the University of Manchester (UMIST), UK. Kexing was the photonic architect led the creation of the first metro DWDM network equipment (OM5200) at Cambrian Systems which was acquired by Nortel Networks in 1998. The product was the most profitable product in Nortel (now Ciena) with more than $3 billion total revenue. Recently, Kexing has led global teams to develop advanced multispectral retinal imaging system (MSI) from concept and product definition through detailed design and rapid prototyping to production quality manufacturing and achieving regulatory approval.
