Julian Webber
Biography
Julian Webber received the M. Eng. degree in electronic engineering and Ph.D. degree in wireless communications from University of Bristol, UK in 1996 and 2004 respectively. He was employed on DSP & ASIC engineering at Texas Instruments Europe from 1996-1998 and was engaged from~2001-07 as a Research Fellow at University of Bristol on the design and real-time implementation of MIMO and 4G digital pre-distortion systems. He continued research on several aspects of MIMO and 5G adaptive wireless communications at Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, Hokkaido University, Japan from 2007-2012. He was employed as a Research Scientist at the Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International (ATR) in Kyoto from~2012-2018 focusing on spectrally efficient satellite and WLAN systems serving as a member of the Japanese technical delegation to ITU-R and IEEE 802.11 Standardization committees. Since 2018 he is a specially appointed Assistant Professor in Photonics.
