Emeritus Professor (2013) at the Technical University of Catalonia.(UPC), Spain. He received the MSc (1968) and (PhD) (1973) degrees at Telecommunications Engineering from the Escuela Tecnica Superior de Ingenieros de Telecomunicacion de Madrid (ETSIT-UPM) (Spain). His research activity is/was devoted to digital radio-communications systems and wireless systems for UAS(Unmaned Aircraft Systems). From 1999 is devoted to Civil UAS radio communications and Telecommunications History. .He was the founder and the first counselor of the IEEE Barcelona student branch in 1981.He was IEEE Spanish section officer on different positions from 1967 to 2023.Section Chair from 2000 to 2007. He is a member of several societies and has various appreciation certificates of two IEEE societies (1985 Information theory) and 1998(Communications society) He also received a Third-Millennium Medal from the IEEE in 2000 and a Lifetime Achievement Award 2023 and other honors in Spain (2013,2023).
