Biography
John S. Fairbanks (SM’03) received the B.A. degree in physics and applied mathematics in 1982 from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), La Jolla, California; the M.S. degree in physics from San Diego State University in 1990; and the C.Phil degree in 2002 and Ph.D. degree in 2003 both in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego Dr. Fairbanks is a California State Board-Certified Professional Electrical Engineer, E16362. He is a member, M’83-’99, S’00-’02, SM’03-24 of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and is a member of the American Physics Society, M’84. Dr. Fairbanks has held a variety of design positions in industry emphasizing integrated circuit development for transceivers.
