Biography
Gabriele Guidi is IEEE Senior Member. He received his M.S. degree in Electronic Engineering in 1988 from the University of Florence and his Ph.D. in 1992 from the University of Bologna, Italy. Then he joined the University of Florence as a researcher in 1995 and moved to Politecnico di Milano in 2005 as Associate Professor. In 2021 he moved to Indiana University, where he is now a Full Professor of Informatics. He has been working on applications of 3D imaging in various fields, with special emphasis on Industrial Design and Cultural Heritage documentation. He has been contributing to the scientific committees of several international conferences, and in 2012 he chaired VSMM2012, the 18th Intl. Conf. on Virtual Systems and Multimedia (www.vsmm2012.org). Dr. Guidi is editor-in-chief of the peer-reviewed journal "Studies in Digital Heritage" (SDH) and works as a reviewer of several international journals in the 3D imaging field.
