Biography
Dr. Hafiz Abdur Rahman is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the North South University, Bangladesh. Dr. Rahman has more than twenty-five years of experience in teaching and research. His expertise include: modeling and simulation of data communication and electrical power systems networks; embedded control and monitoring systems; parallel and distributed computing; security and reliability of Internet-enabled systems; data processing and decision support systems. He has pioneering work on critical infrastructures that forms the basis for understanding of "Cyber Interdependency" as we know it today. Dr. Rahman had been a member of the executive committee of IEEE P2030.4 (Smart Grid) standardization working group (2013-2018) and was the chair for the Safety-related committee of the WG. He is a registered professional engineer in Canada and a fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh.
