Biography
Dimitrios S. Nikolopoulos is the John W. Hancock Professor of Engineering, Professor in Computer Science and Professor (by courtesy) in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Virginia Tech.
Dimitrios's research explores virtualization technologies for scalable computing and memory management for large-scale systems. Je has earned numerous awards for his research, including several individual investigator awards (NSF CAREER , DOE Early Career Principal Investigator, Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit, Science Foundation Ireland Investigator), and industry awards (IBM Faculty Award). Dimitrios's research has also been recognized with nine Best Paper awards from premier ACM and IEEE conferences (including the ACM/IEEE Supercomputing, ACM PPoPP, and IEEE IPDPS conferences).
Dimitrios has published more than 240 refereed articles in leading journals and conferences of his field. He has also supervised 24 Ph.D. students, 16 postdoctoral early-career researchers, 20 M.S
