I've been an electronics and computers nerd my entire life. I was just about ten years old when I started listening to shortwave radio. That morphed into an interest in amateur radio. I obtained my first amateur radio license when I was 16 and have been a licensed amateur radio operator (callsign KB6NU) ever since. I graduated from the University of Detroit with a B. Eng., Electrical Engineering, and worked as an engineer, mostly in test engineering for a variety of electronics companies. After a dozen years of that, I worked for Test&Measurement Word magazine, ending my stint there as Senior Technical Editor. For the past 20 years or so, I've been a freelance web developer and freelance writer.
