Professor Cristina Silvano

Biography
Cristina Silvano is Full Professor of Computer Engineering and Chair of the Research Area on Computer Science and Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. In 2019-2021, she was CSE Vice-Chair of the PhD Board in IT at Politecnico di Milano. Her research focuses on energy-efficient computer architectures and electronic design automation. She started her career as Senior VLSI Designer at R&D Labs of Group Bull in Italy and Visiting Eng. at Honeywell in Boston and at IBM in Austin. She received a PhD from U. of Brescia in 1999. She was Assistant Professor at U. of Milano and Associate Professor at Politecnico di Milano. She was Coordinator of the European research projects ANTAREX (2015-2018), 2PARMA (2010-2013) and MULTICUBE (2008-2010). She is an active member of the Italian National Centre in HPC. She has published more than 200 peer-reviewed papers, five books and some patents. She is Associate Editor of IEEE Trans. on Computers, IEEE CAL and ACM TACO.
