Two AI pioneers won the Nobel prize in Physics. Were you surprised? Pleased?

Recently, we learned that two AI pioneers won the Nobel prize in Physics.  I admit that I was initially surprised by this, as I see Artificial Intelligence as a field within computer science - which I do not see as a field within physics.
But I was pleased to see those AI pioneers recognized for their tremendously impactful work. Perhaps I should reorient my thinking. How do you feel about this? Were you surprised?  Pleased? Why?
