Can you be a successful programer in 2027 if you don't know AI?

Many expect AI to revolutionize work in many professions - and one of those professions is programming. Recently, IEEE Spectrum noted that "AI Copilots Are Changing How Coding Is Taught.  Professors are shifting away from syntax and emphasizing higher-level skills."   Is this an omen of the future - that future programmers will need to know how to use AI, and interface to AI, to be successful?  Your opinion please.
