How much "reasoning" will computers be honestly able to claim in the next few years?

I have seen a number of posts recently, including OpenAI Unveils New ChatGPT That Can Reason Through Math and Science, which claim that the OpenAI's ChatGPT can reason. I find this to be an audacious claim - that would be hard to prove or disprove. In your opinion .... How much "reasoning" will computers be honestly able to claim in the next few years.
