What does it mean to be transhuman?

I recently read the IEEE Spectrum article  Roboticists Want to Give You a Third Arm with interest - as it hints at a future of human enhancements. Furthermore, I have started to see the word transhuman appearing in the literature. What does the word transhuman mean to you?
