Do you have to be tech savvy to be a responsible parent?

A recent post pointed out that  Most US Teens Use Generative AI. Most of Their Parents Don’t KnowThis raises the general concern that children [my kids] could (well, actually, I know they are as I've seen them do it!) be using technologies that expose them to dangers that I am not familiar with - and cannot protect them from. Fortunately, I have some tech expertise to help - but not every parent does. Do you think you have to be tech savvy to be a responsible parent? On a personal note, what tools do you use/suggest to protect your kids?

I admit, this is a very personal topic for me as I have twin 13 year-olds and this is an issue currently playing out my own home.
