IEEE Software Defined Network (SDN) Initiative

The field and practice of Software Defined Networks (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) is constantly evolving, becoming a systemic trend impacting not only Telecommunications and ICT but several industries and ecosystems. This trend is called Virtualization and it has been ignited by ultra-broadband diffusion and the convergence of several IT techno-economic trajectories. With SDN and NFV revolutionizing the Digital Society and Digital Economy, the IEEE SDN Initiative is building a global technical community with shared interests centered around the opportunity and potential of Virtualization. IEEE SDN is a broad-based collaborative project for SDN and NFV to be introduced by a global professional association.
