The Technical University of Kenya in association with IEEE SPAx organises "Mental Health Awareness Talk"

A Mental Health Awareness Event for University Students was held on 7/3/24 at The Nairobi Arboretum (1:00 PM - 6:00 PM EAT). Students (27) from Electrical Engineering, Geospatial Information Systems, Mechatronics, Telecommunication, and Information Technology participated. Bonding activities fostered connection, followed by a speaker session on rising student suicide cases and coping mechanisms. The session addressed risk factors, recognizing distress, and managing stress/anxiety. Interactive discussions created a safe space for sharing experiences. The event successfully raised awareness and equipped students with mental well-being tools.
