With the growing advent of massive cloud adoption  and progress in optical fiber and electronics, both very small scale integration and lower costs, the era of very fast networks has arrived.  This talk will focus on Infiniband, originally planned as a server to server fibre channel specification, to now grow into the network fabric of choice for both large supercomputers and data centers.  We will look at the history of infiniband, the technologies behind it, the roadmap, the  various players in the ecosystem, different views by different adopters, etc. Another words, a solid overview and almost mini tutorial on this fast networking technology.
