Looking Back on My IEEE VoLT Journey
I’m incredibly proud to look back at my time as one of the youngest graduates from the IEEE Volunteer Leadership Training (VoLT) Class of 2022. This program was a pivotal moment in my IEEE journey, providing me with invaluable leadership training, networking opportunities, and the chance to collaborate with brilliant peers from across the globe. Being part of this community has helped me develop both personally and professionally, allowing me to grow as a leader in ways I couldn’t have imagined.
The VoLT experience challenged me to step out of my comfort zone, to think strategically, and to embrace leadership at a higher level. I had the opportunity to learn from seasoned IEEE leaders and mentors, who shared their wisdom on volunteerism, effective communication, and the importance of community engagement. These lessons helped shape my understanding of what it means to lead in a global organization like IEEE, where diversity, innovation, and collaboration are key to making a positive impact.
Now, as a mentor for the VoLT Class of 2024, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to give back to this community that has given me so much. Mentorship is a role I’m deeply passionate about because I believe in the power of passing on knowledge and helping others succeed. My goal is to support the next generation of IEEE leaders by sharing the insights and experiences I gained during my own VoLT journey.
For those currently navigating the program, I want to emphasize that this experience is what you make of it. Take every opportunity to engage with your peers, ask questions, and learn from the challenges you encounter. If any team is looking for guidance, feedback, or mentorship, please don’t hesitate to reach out—I’d be more than happy to support you on your VoLT journey!
Let’s continue to grow together as a strong, dynamic IEEE community, working towards creating meaningful change and inspiring others to lead with purpose.
Looking forward to connecting and making an impact with all of you!
